Be Merciful unto Me a Sinner.
A Prayer of understanding and sorrow.
No matter what religion you belong to, without Christ in your life, you are lost. Without Christ you cannot know God, and without God, you cannot know His Spirit.
Be Merciful unto Me, a Sinner, O Lord, for you know my heart, and all my ways.
You have seen me in the light of day, and my works of evil, and you have known me in the darkest of nights, and the sins I have preformed. I have went into the highest of mountains, and the lowest of valleys. I have not been able to hide myself from your watchful eyes.
You have heard my reveling, and the joys, I have done upon this earth. All these things of unrighteousness have I preformed, and now ask for forgiveness, for I have found that all these things have been but just vanity.
Be Merciful unto Me, a Sinner, O Lord. Look into my heart, I am full of weeping and sorrow. I call upon the name of your Dear Son Jesus and I believe. I remember all my sin and have asked for forgiveness. I believe that Jesus is both Lord, and Christ. I believe that He died for my sins, and the sins of all the world.
I believe that He rose on the appointed day, and was received back into your Heaven to be returned to His former Glory. I believe that He is now setting upon your right hand side, and is making intersessions for me, and all others like me. I believe O Lord, please help my unbelief. Be Merciful unto Me, a Sinner.
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
I am justified by your mercy. For as it is written and I have read; “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
Please give to me the wisdom, knowledge, the joy of your promises, and your most excellent word. For I was hungry and you gave me to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me to drink. I was alone and you comforted me, I was afraid and you surrounded me by your angels to place a standard around me. I was blind and you gave me sight, I was deaf and you gave me understanding, and I was dumb and you gave me a voice to testify of your excellent greatness.
I understand some of the most elusive meanings of your words; “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.” I understand that all the works of man shall come into account of the righteous judge. Even though a man lives 100 years, and knows not the Lord, his actions and works shall follow him to the grave. I feared the grave, O Lord, for the darkness, sorrow and mystery of it.
As it is written, and I understand; “O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!” and also; “For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.”
I know that I must return back to the dust of the earth, from which I was made. But as the sun rises and falls before my time, give to me understanding of the work that I must do, for I know I can please you in the spirit. Let your countenance fall upon me, and let my works bring just one smile to your face. Let your favor and grace fall upon me, and let your regard of me be a sweet one, for I believe.
As it is written, and I understand; “O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.” “For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.” “For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?”, and for this reason, I shall glorify Your name while I still live. Threw my belief in your Son, You have delivered me from the fear of the grave, and the fear of death.
I shall testify of Your excellent greatness and Love. I shall testify of thy saving grace, threw Your Son Jesus, My Lord and Saviour.
As it is written, and I understand; “Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.” For I shall no longer fear death, Hell, nor the grave, for thou art with me always. I shall no longer fear what men shall do to me, for I have become a son of the Most High God.
Thank you O Lord, for your Mercy unto Me, a Sinner, for you know my heart, and all my ways. For threw your Son Jesus I have been reborn and become a new creature in Christ Jesus. Ars.
